Women’s Shelter

Welcome to the Compassion Corsicana Women’s Shelter.

The shelter began in 1985. It was founded as a Christian ministry by Wes 
and Liz Haefs and first opened to serve unwed mothers and battered women. 
Today, we support homeless women from all circumstances of life.

The shelter provides a faith-based safe environment for homeless women and 
their children. Our goal is to help women become self-sufficient. There are 
often many obstacles to overcome in life. Our hope is in Philippians 4:13 
which says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Eligibility Requirements

Homeless women ages 18 years or older and their children, male children 
must be 12 and under.

Able to obtain income or employment.

Able to live independently.
